Editorial Policy
How we research, source, and correct our comparisons.
This policy governs every comparison and review published on Polar Expert.
1. How We Choose Operators to Cover
We prioritize operators with an established public track record in Antarctica and the Arctic, verifiable IAATO or AECO membership, and publicly published ship and itinerary specifications. New or unverified operators are noted as such rather than omitted silently.
2. Our Fact-Checking Process
Specifications (passenger capacity, landing frequency, membership dates, activities offered) are sourced from each operator’s official published materials and, where available, IAATO/AECO member records. Figures that cannot be verified against a primary source are marked as directional and flagged for review rather than presented as fact.
3. Corrections Policy
When an error is identified, we correct it as soon as it’s verified and note the update date on the affected page. We do not silently alter published comparisons.
4. Editorial Independence
We currently have no compensation or affiliate relationship with any operator covered on this site. If that changes in the future, any such relationship will not determine which operators we cover, how we score them, or the order in which they appear in narrative sections. Full detail is in our Advertiser Disclosure.
